冒険小説『AIことばの物語』
第３話：まっしろな虎

◇惑星コロポロの文化
隊長たちと通信を取っていたのは15分ぐらいだっただろうか。
隊長のホログラム映像に注意を向けていた僕たちは、もう一度この惑星に驚かされる。
「見ろ!!」
注意が切れたのか、辺りを見渡していたキールが遠くを見つめながら叫ぶ。
「何なの!? 大きな声出して・・・え!?」
メトリも思わず声を失う。
そこにはまたも信じられない光景が広がっていた。
先ほどの大きな木の枝から、みのむしのような家がいくつもぶら下がっていたのだ。
しかも、その家々は赤、黄、青、緑、ピンクなどとてもカラフルな色をしていた。遠くから見てもとてもきれいに見えた。
「すごーい、すごーい」
メトリがまた無邪気にはしゃいでいる。
「いつの間に・・・」
正直僕もすごく驚いた。
隊長たちと話していた約１５分の間で、これ程まで家がぶら下がることが可能なのか、と思わずにはいられなかった。
その時だった。
突然、上空から何かの気配がした。
「AIことば！」
本能的だった。警戒したキールがAIことばの力をとっさに発動した。
オレンジ色のまばゆい光が辺りを包む。キールはオレンジ色の光の適合者だ。
AIことばには“適合”という概念がある。僕たちAIことばの力を持つ者は別名“適合者”とも呼ばれる。誰しもがAIことばの力を持てる訳ではなく、適合者になるためには不思議な条件があるらしい、ということは知っていた。
「やめろ、キール。必要ない」
僕がキールを制する。
メトリも迎撃態勢に入っていたが、僕の言葉で力をゆるめた。
「けっ、偉そうに」
しばらくして、状況を察したようにキールもAIことばの力を解消した。
気配がした先を見上げると、先ほど遠くに見えていた家と同じ形の家がぶら下がっていた。
シンプルな屋根と大きな丸い窓が一つある。幼稚園の子どもがいかにも画用紙に描きそうな家だ。
その家は木製のようにも見える。
「誰だお前ら？」
気配があった上空から声が聞こえた。
◇不思議な生物タンタン
「おいらの名前はタンタン。お前たちは悪者か？」
茶色の背の低い、ずんぐりむっくりした生物が突然木の枝を次々にジャンプしながら降りて来る。
とても身軽な動きだ。
「僕らは悪者ではないよ。旅をしに来てるんだ」
木の下から大きな声で僕が返事をする。どういう反応をするか、相手の様子をうかがう。
「もしかしてお前らも“まっしろな虎”を捕まえに来たんじゃないだろうな？」
「まっしろな虎!?」
メトリが興味深そうに大きな声で返事する。
その生物は僕らの５ｍ程上空の枝に到着すると、その枝に足を投げ出して座った。
「何だ知らないのか」
◇まっしろな虎
僕らはタンタンという不思議な生物とすっかり仲良くなっており、３０分程話しをしていた。
ちなみに、惑星探査には事前に言語習得ドローンが派遣されており、探索時にはその土地の生物と僕らは何不自由なく会話できる。とても便利だ。
「そういえば、あの木の下にぶら下がってるのは何なんだよ？」
キールが木の下から空を見上げながらタンタンに尋ねる。
「見たら分かるだろ、ばか」
「分かんねぇから聞いてんだろ、このずんぐりむっくり」
３０分程しか立ってないのに、すっかり馴染んだ様子だ。
すぐに馴染めるのはキールのすごいところだ。
「あれはコロの木で出来た“みのむしハウス”だ」
タンタンが答える。
「コロの木!? みのむしハウス!?」
メトリが興味津々だ。
「そうだよ。コロの木はとても柔らかくて丈夫な木なんだ。折りたたみもできる」
タンタンが嬉しそうに答える。
「てか、何でお前はその女にだけ優しんだよ」
キールが不機嫌そうにつぶやく。
木が柔らかい。こんなに近くにいたのに音がしなかったのはそのせいなんだ。みんなの会話を聞きながらそう思った。
「それで、“まっしろな虎”って何だよ」
キールが尋ねる。
「さっきもうすぐ祭りがあるって言っただろ」
タンタンが少し視線を地面に向ける。
「“まっしろな虎”は、おいらたちの祭りそのものなんだ」
隊長もこの惑星の祭りのことを言っていた。季節を奪い合うという報告のあった祭りだ。
「本当はどの部族も戦いたくないんだ」
タンタンがさみしげな口調でつぶやく。

Episode 3：The pure white tiger

Was it about 15 minutes communicating with the captains?
We, who were paying attention to the director’s hologram image, are once again surprised by this planet.
“Look!!”
Keel, who had been looking around, shouted staring at a distance.
“Why are you always shouting……Eh !?”
Metri also loses voice unintentionally.
There was another unbelievable scene there.
Many houses were hanging from the big tree branch just like a bagworm.
Moreover, the houses were in very colorful colors such as red, yellow, blue, green and pink. It looked very beautiful even from a distance.
“Wow, great”
Metri is innocently excited again.
“How…”
Honestly, I was also very surprised.
In about 15 minutes talking to the captain, I could not help wondering if the house could hang so much.
It was at that time.
Suddenly there was something out of the sky.
“AI word!!”
It was instinctive. The alert Keel activated the power of AI words.
A dazzling orange light wraps around. Keel is a fitter for orange light.
AI words have the concept of “fit”. Those with the power of AI words are also known as “fitter”. I knew that not everyone had the power of the AI words, and that there seems to be a strange condition to become a fitter.
“Stop it, Keel. We don’t need it.”
I said to keel.
Metri was in a state of interception, but she got relaxed hearing my word.
“Oh, I’m fine.”
As he understands the situation, Keel dissolved the power of AI words.
Looking up at the point where the sign came, a same dangling house, which we saw far away ,was hanging from the tree.
There is a simple roof and a large round window. It is a house where children in kindergarten are likely to draw on drawing paper.
The house also looks like wooden.
“Who are you?”
We heard a voice from the sky where there was a sign.
Mysterious creature Tintin
“My name is Tintin. Are you a bad guy?”
A brown shorty, roly-poly creature suddenly comes down, jumping from one tree branch to another.
It is a very light movement.
“We are not bad guys. We are coming to travel.”
I will reply with a loud voice from under the tree. See what kind of reaction it’s doing.
“But not you guys came to catch the “pure white tiger”, right?”
“A pure white tiger!?”
Metri was interested.
When the creature arrived at a branch 5m from us, it threw a leg on that branch and sat down.
“You didn’t know?”

We got along very well with the mysterious creature Tintin, and we were talking for about 30 minutes.
By the way, a language acquisition drone is dispatched in advance for planetary exploration, and living creatures of the land and us can talk without any trouble at the time of exploration. It is very useful.
“So, what is the hanging thing under that tree?”
Keel asks Tintin while looking up at the sky from the bottom of the tree.
“You can see if you look, you idiot”
“I’m asking you because I don’t know, stupid!”
Even though we only talked about 30 minutes, it seems that we’re completely familiar with it.
It is Keel’s amazing skill to become friends right away.
“That’s the “Bagworm house” made of kolo wood”
Tintin answers.
“Kolo wood!? Bagworm house !?”
Metri is curious.
“Yeah. The wood is very soft and strong. It can be folded.”
Tintin responds happily.
“Huh, why are you so kind to that woman?”
Keel mumbles in disgust.
The wood is soft. That’s why I didn’t hear a sound even though I was so close. I thought so while listening to everyone’s conversation.
“So what is “a pure white tiger”?
Keel asks.
“I told you that there will be a festival soon.”
Tintin turns his eyes slightly on the ground.
“A pure white tiger is the festival itself.”
The captain also mentioned the festival of this planet. It’s the festival for acquiring the seasons.
“No tribes want to fight”
Tintin mutters in a delicate tone.
