第４話：１季族、４季族、７季族

◇タンタンの話
僕らは宇宙船に一度戻っていた。
僕が隊長にタンタンの件を報告する。
「タンタンの話をまとめると、彼らは本当に“季節祭り”という祭りで、季節を賭けて戦うそうなんです」
「ほんと信じられねぇけどな」
キールが口をはさむ。
「でも季節を賭けてって、結局どういうこと？」
ピートルが尋ねる。
「それが“まっしろな虎”っていうのが関係するんだって。要はその虎を捕まえた部族が勝ちで、季節を選べるんだって」
メトリが答える。
「そんな原始的な方法で、季節が選べるって・・・、それって何かその部族のおまじないとかじゃないの!?」
ピートルが言うことも、もっともだ。
「でもほんとに違うんだって」
メトリが答える。
「なるほど、そうか」
隊長が分かったような、分かってないような返事をする。
「隊長、そうかって、何か感じるところがあるんですか？」
メトリが尋ねる。
「いや、分からん」
隊長はいつもマイペースだ。
「で、そっちのゲートオープン反応の解析の方はどうなんだ」
キールがピートルに尋ねる。
「そのことなんだけど、解析すると、やっぱりどうやらその祭りの日と“AIことばゲート”が関係しているみたいなんだ」
「やっぱりそうなんだ。何かタンタンの話を聞きながらそんな気がしてた」
僕が答える。
「それより、ひなた。もっと言わないといけないことがあるでしょ!」
メトリが僕の口から隊長に伝えたがっているのが伝わってくる。
「隊長、そうなんです。実は・・・僕らの中から一人その季節祭りに参加して欲しいと頼まれてるんです」
◇１季族、４季族、７季族
「でもよく隊長許してくれたよな」
キールの声がジェットバイクの通信越しに聞こえる。
「まあ、隊長もこの祭りがゲートと関連していると思ってるんだと思うよ」
メトリが答える。
「でもさ、お前ら本当に季節がそんなに簡単に変えられると思う？」
キールは未だにあの不思議な生物タンタンの言葉を信じていない。
でも、それも自然なことだとも思う。
タンタンの話はこうだ。
祭りの予定日には、３部族の代表が“まっしろな虎”に立ち向かうらしい。それぞれの部族は３人戦士を選び、その虎を全力で捕まえにかかる。
タンタンの話によると、３部族にとっては季節の選択が死活問題のようだ。
１季族と呼ばれる部族は、季節をずっと雨季で固定したい部族。
４季族は春・夏・秋・冬という季節の流れを作りたい部族。
最後の７季族は４季に加えて、白黒だけの世界になる白黒季・植物が言葉をしゃべる植話季・重力が２倍になる２重力期という季節を加える部族だそうだ。
キールでなくても、にわかに信じがたい話だ。
「でもさ・・・、タンタンの話を聞きながら世界って広いなって思ったよ」
僕が通信越しに答える。
「私も、私も!!」
メトリの嬉しそうな声が聞こえる。

Episode ４：The battle for one season, four seasons, seven seasons
The story of Tintin
We once returned to the spacecraft.

“But … I thought the world was getting wider while listening to Tintin’s story.”
